All about my Major: Fashion Textile Management
I was so excited when someone requested on my Instagram, @brightestofthebunch, that I do a post about my major and what I plan to do with it! I love talking about my major because one I am passionate about it and two, people commonly mistake it for Fashion Design. I cannot tell you how many times people have assumed I want to be a designer after hearing the title of my major, and for whatever reason, this drives me insane. There are so many more opportunities than just design in the fashion industry, you just have to be open minded and consider all the options. Majors at the College of…

College Q&A! Your Questions Answered!!
Q: How did you know that NC State was the school for you? A: I knew I wanted to go into Fashion Management in a public school in state and NC State’s College of Textiles is the best public textiles program in the country, so that was my main decider. The other in state public schools that offer a similar program are Appalachian State University, East Carolina University, and UNC Greensboro. Out of those, I only applied to State and App because I knew my chances of getting into App were high and I would have been perfectly happy going there instead. Q: Do you think the Textiles program at…

WARNING: This post is extremely long but I did not realize until writing it how much I have been wanting to share with y’all! I have been wanting to share more of my day to day life and realized that while I may feel my days are very repetitive, some of y’all may be curious to learn what I do. Monday: I currently only have three classes at the College of Textiles and the rest are general education classes, but I am involved in other opportunities here as well. Today…

How I Chose my Roommate
Pretty soon upcoming students will be receiving acceptance letters and beginning to prepare for their college experience. One of the first things you are required to do to prepare for your freshman year is figure out your housing arrangements, aka where you want to live and who you are going to live with. As for roommate options, you can either request a specific person or choose to have a random selection. This year, first year students were required to live on campus, which I was planning on doing anyways. I did not have any girl friends coming to NC State that I would room with, so I got one of…

What you DON’T need to take to College
Today I am sharing the things that I either knew not to bring to college or brought and found I did not use! Alarm Clock I bought one and I always just used my phone so if you are used to your phone alarm, I’d say it’s safe to rely on that. Microwave/Refrigerator You need to check specifically with your residence hall, but at least in Carroll Hall, the refrigerator and microwave are included. Just make sure to check online and see what is included in your room before making any big purchases because some things may be included! Food I will admit that I have macaroni and other microwavable…
