Weekly Recap: November 4, 2019

Today I am going to be starting back up the weekly recap posts by catching y’all up with what has been going on recently! I loved doing these posts over the summer but I started getting super busy with work and school and lost the time and energy to keep writing them. Writing on the blog started to feel like a chore which only leads to pieces I don’t want to write and you won’t want to read. So, I took a little break from the blog! If you’re not following me over on YouTube, make sure to subscribe to me because I am much more consistent over there but I am feeling inspired and motivated to really get back into posting over here as well!

School Recently:

This semester I am taking four classes, or 13 credit hours. I was originally signed up to take five classes, 17 credit hours, but I felt like that would be too much on me for this semester because I knew I would be working on my spring study abroad applications, so I dropped Polymore Color Chemistry. The courses I am currently taking are an English class on Editing, Business Communication, Business Finance and Textile Technology. One of these classes is online, two are in person, and one is half online and half in person. What I am saying is, I have a pretty light schedule with only one class a day. My hardest class is Textile Technology, mostly because it is my least favorite. Typically, Textile labs aren’t too difficult. We don’t have practicals or lab tests, they usually end early, and our lab report is just answering questions, not an actual report. Even though this is an easier lab, I have been really worried about my lab grade because I had not seen any grades other than hearing from the TA that I “did it wrong” and seeing that the girl next to me got a 65 on her first lab report. I know I have been struggling with the lab reports because they are on things we have not covered in class yet and all the questions are not fully answered in class. I was really worried about this, but then I realized the lab is somehow ahead of the class schedule so the answers are in our next section of notes! I got back my grades and did do badly on the first report (75), but I got a 94 and a 100 on my most recent reports! With that being said, none of the classes are giving me much trouble, which I am thankful for because I have been super busy preparing to study abroad. Oh! And if you aren’t following me closely on other platforms: I got into study abroad and will be attending Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, Italy for the spring semester! I have been doing SO much to prepare for this adventure and I cannot wait to share future posts on everything I go through during this process.

Free Time Recently:

I was placed with amazing random roommates this year that I went out with a ton at the beginning of the year, but I’ve honestly introverted myself into my room most days because I have been working so hard on school, study abroad and my blog platforms recently. My best friend Aggie and her family and boyfriend came for a football game back in September which was a lot of fun and last week I went to the fair with two girls from my major! Last weekend I went and saw Youtuber/Blogger (friend) Delaney in Greenville and she has also been down to Raleigh this year which is always fun because we take photos and get coffee. I’ve also been hanging out at my boyfriend’s house with his friends on most days, so I am definitely more social than I used to be, but I think I have a great balance right now.

Recent Purchases:

I am LOVING all the fall fashion in the shops right now. I have a Forever 21 haul going up on my YouTube channel this week, but I will share a few other things I have purchased here with you guys!

First, the famous leather clutch. If you follow a lot of bloggers on Instagram and pay close attention to fashion trends, you probably know that the $2,700 Bottega leather clutch is everywhere right now… and so are the dupes! I ordered a small back one and a large tan one from a website I found that honestly probably charged me way too much. I recently found the same small size dupes on Shein for $14 and they’re probably the same quality as the $40 ones I ordered (both coming from China), so I will link the Shein ones below for you!

I have a TON of stuff in my Forever 21 and Missguided shopping carts, which I tend to share on my Instagram stories (@brightestofthebunch), but I did make a mini order from Pretty Little Thing! I picked up a belted leather top and leather straight-leg trousers.

What I’ve Been Watching this Week (TV & YouTube Addict Here!!):

This fall season I tried to watch a few scary movies and found that I actually could not take them seriously! The two movies that I found the scariest (& best) were Fractured on Netflix and Down on Hulu. I do not want to give anything away, but Fractured is truly disturbing and both movies will completely catch you off guard. TV show wise, I watched the most recent season of Law and Order SVU on Hulu, Big Mouth on Netflix, and am currently watching what I am most excited about: the newest release of Atypical on Netflix. Atypical is about a college boy with autism and his family and it is so funny and lighthearted and possibly one of my favorite shows ever. As for YouTube, Shane has taken over the platform this season. If you somehow have not seen his beauty series that is currently going on, you should check it out. It’s so interesting and inspiring to see. I’ve also been loving Brooke Miccio’s vlogs after my friend and YouTuber Delaney Hogg recommended Brooke to me. I also recently discovered Lydia Elise Millen and I LOVE her. Her channel, blog and wardrobe is everything I could ever hope for. I also always love Freya Killin’s fashion videos, and I’ll stop there or else I’ll go on forever.
