What I did at my Internship this Week:
This week at my internship I made a video featuring our vintage items and a video of a few items for the 50% off sale we had! To keep up with all the content I create, follow @summerbirdboutique on Instagram! This week I also got to see how my boss decides what consignment items to accept and how to price them- we had some pretty cool finds including vintage Prada and Fendi! The most exciting part of the week was getting to go to Atlanta for market and help pick out new clothes for the store. This was an opportunity unlike any other and I am so thankful fate placed me at summerbird with people as amazing as Tracy and Amanda. Driving an hour and a half to and from work may seem like a lot for some people, but when you get to work with people like them and have opportunities you never would- it’s completely worth it. Also- getting back home at 8:30 every night allows me to always have the beautiful sunset welcoming me home!
School this Week:
School this week has been super stressful because I’ve been so busy and my Technilogical Catastrophes test is next week. I felt pretty prepared for the midterm, but then my teacher assigned 76 pages of reading and two videos instead of the normal 16-20 pages. So yeah, I’ve been overwhelmed.
What I did During my Free Time this Week:
With all the working I did, I really did not have much free time! Friday after coming home I mostly just studied for my Technological Catastrophes test the following weekend. I spent Saturday with my grandmother that I call Grammy and we took photos, as usual! My favorite photos were of me in a tree with a long maxi wrap dress. I loved these photos, but boy did I have to work for them. I spotted the perfect tree for the shot in a neighbor’s yard so we had to ask if we could use it, which is embarrassing enough as it is, but then I couldn’t get into it so we had to leave and come back with a step ladder. While getting into the tree, I stepped on my dress and nearly tore the wrap belt straight off! Luckily it did not come all the way off, otherwise, I would have been completely exposed. After in the tree I could NOT stop shaking, a prime example of why I was not a flyer in high school. After finally getting the shot and returning to the ground, I suddenly felt a sharp pain on the inner side of my left big toe. My eyes darted to look for the source and there it was: a yellow jacket. My instinct reaction was to grab it and throw it off of me, but it had already stung me and now it got away ALIVE. This was only the second time I have ever been stung and the first time was on my thumb and I reacted the same way! Then Sunday was Father’s Day so I ate with my Dad’s side of the family. I got my dad a funny card that looked like a wet floor sign but said something along the lines of “caution dad resting” and I put it out in front of him laying on the ground sleeping after dinner (his signature move), but you would have seen that on my stories if you’re following me (@brightestofthebunch). AND- my mom and I finally got my bedroom into order! Sort of. It’s still not where I want it to be and the filming space still looks bad, but at least now I have open floor space!
What I Bought this Week:
I did not actually buy anything, but I did receive two gifted dresses and a gifted Fab Fit Fun box! I just published a video going through everything in the box so I will link that at the end of the post for you!
What I’ve Been Watching this Week (TV & YouTube Addict Here!!):
This TV Addict committed to paying for Hulu every month! I hadn’t finished America’s Next Top Model and Hulu will have new episodes of Good Trouble, an extension of The Fosters, as it premieres so I deiced to commit and it is only $6.something a month! Not gonna lie, I am writing this post superrrrr late (like 2 weeks later late), so I am not sure what was watching this week, but I’m sure not much of anything since I was so busy!
A Few Thoughts I’ve Been Having:
After getting to visit market and see all the upcoming fashion and the personal style of others in the industry, I am feeling inspired and ready to get back into creating content and trying new styles! I even found a new account on Instagram that I LOVE and am currently using her background as my phone background!
