Valentine’s Day Gift Guide for Him

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and I’m not gonna lie- it snuck up on me this year! I’ve been getting some messages from y’all on Instagram this week asking for my recommendations on what to get the special male in your life so today I am going to be sharing my idea’s as well as what I have gotten Doug the past 3 Valentine’s Days!

My Picks

Valentine’s Day is different than birthdays and Christmas because I feel like this is a time to gift something smaller, but maybe that’s just me or maybe it’s just the age I’m at! Here are my picks for guys:

-Something for his hobby. For example, Doug loves fishing. He always wants fishing stuff so some small stuff related to fishing would be great for Valentine’s Day. Is it blaringly obvious that I have no idea what I am talking about right now? I think they’re called lures, right? This is why I never get this stuff for him, but if your boyfriend has a hobby you are familiar with, get him something relating to that!

-Tee Shirt: From his favorite brand, pictured is Patagonia & Vineyard Vines

-Hat: From his favorite brand, pictured is Patagonia: fish, logo

-Phone Case: Pictured is Otterbox

Phone Charger: I know this doesn’t seem like a fun gift but Doug is forever in need of a charger because he breaks/loses his and this isn’t something people usually want to buy themselves so something like this could be helpful. Maybe find a cool one like a wireless one or extra length one and pair it with something else like the phone case or even headphones! Another cool idea is the phone cases that have built in chargers!

-Wallet: I know wallets can be on the more expensive side but they don’t have to be if you are not looking to spend as much for Valentine’s Day. For example, Fossil has several under $50! More are linked through my like to know it account! You can follow me on there or screenshot or “like” my recent Instagram photo to shop!

-Cologne: Once again, some colognes can be one the more expensive side. If your boyfriends is in you price range for Valentine’s Day then this is another perfect gift!

Yeti Cup

-Candy: Like I have said, I feel like small gifts like this are perfectly fine for this holiday!

-Photo and Frame: This is my go-to gift for anyone if I can’t think of anything else! It is super easy to put together and it is thoughtful!

DIY Gifts

Since this holiday is all about showing your love for one another, I think a really great idea is to make something for your significant other! I have a whole video about DIY gift ideas for him that you can check out here:

I have also thought of a few other DIY ideas that are great for Valentine’s Day. For example, one of my friends and I were talking about what she is doing for the guy she is talking to this Valentine’s Day and she said she was thinking of making him cupcakes. Now I’m not one to bake or cook anything that can’t be made in the microwave, but if you are skilled in this area, then I think it is a great idea to make any kind of special treat for the special person in your life! Whether that be cupcakes, brownies, cookies- whatever you decide! The fact that you made them rather than just buying them shows how much you care!

What I have Gifted

If you read my Gift Guide for Him: What I have Gifted before//My Picks! post, then you have an idea of the types of gifts I normally give Doug.

Our first Valentine’s Day I got him a tee shirt and maybe candy- I honestly don’t 100% remember. Our second Valentine’s Day we discussed not getting each other anything real and only giving each other something small like candy, but of course I was the only one who followed through with our deal. Last Valentine’s Day was Doug’s Christmas, and you can read about why in the post linked above. Long story short- don’t shop from a website you’ve never heard of without reading the reviews first. Anyways, since it was also his Christmas present I got him way more than I normally would for Valentine’s Day. I gave him a Patagonia tee shirt, a scrapbook that I worked on for literally two and a half years, probably candy, and something else smaller like a hat- once again, I’m not 100% sure.
