How To Stay on Trend Without Breaking the Bank
These Tips can apply to any trend throughout the years, but today I am going to give examples of the current trends.
1. Don’t invest in trends:
Trends are tricky because of how quickly they change. One day it’s in, and the next day it’s out. Because of this, I recommend NOT investing a ton of money into trends, because you may not wear it next year or even next month. I recommend shopping at stores like h&m, rue 21, forever 21, and shein to find the best trends at an affordable price!
I found these awesome off the shoulder looks at Rue 21 and the best part, they only cost me $10 for both of them! And the hat? $3 :
This super cute off the shoulder pink gingham top was only $12 at h&m!:
These are my current favorite trendy items on SheIn’s website and they’re all under $20!
2. Check out Goodwill:
I have a whole paper about how trends tend to make their full circle and become popular again. I will link it for you here:Old is the new new. Last summer, suede and the lace up trend were becoming really popular and I found an awesome suede laceup tank that was really old but also perfect because it was on trend again!
3. Easy DIY’s
Right now, the whole cut out tattered tshirt/band tee look is really popular.
They’re about $17 at forever 21 and up to $44 at urban, or you could easily make it yourself as seen here on Pinterest!:
Another example, bow chokers. Given you can find these for pretty inexpensive prices, you could just as easily cut a piece of ribbon and tie it around your neck!
Also, those wrap around beaded necklaces. I see them in boutiques everywhere for $40+! They are so simple and easy to make! Here is one I made:
4. Dupes!
This year everyone is loving these Marc Fisher wedges, loving everything accept the price ($170)
Here I’ve linked this amazing dupe that’s under $60!
Another super popular trend are these Gucci crossbodys that go for around $980:
