This year I actually bought a few bathing suits for the first time in 4 years! Today I will be sharing my favorite bathing suits for a variety of different types of coverage and quality preferences!
Larger in the Bust Area/Prefer more coverage:
I used to struggle so much with bathing suits because the top never fit me properly- and still does not always! But honestly, it used to be terrible! Shopping for bathing suits was the absolute worst experience. The cup size on the small was too small but the rib cage on the medium was too big! Even if the cup on the small did technically fit, I sometimes feel too exposed and insecure with how my body looks in certain cup cuts (like the basic triangle top). The best solution to this is to find tops that come in bra sizes rather than small, medium, and large! Since Victoria Secret no longer makes swimwear, I recommend Aerie for finding the perfect fit that is exactly your bra size!
Another option is to check out Walmart! Believe it or not but they actually have a lot of tops better for bustier girls- and they are cheap! I have three different tops that fit me great because they came in bra sizes!
If you still prefer the bralette style top, I recommend looking for tops with adjustable ties and neck ties to ensure the best fit possible! I have one from Target that I was able to get a large in for extra coverage and still fit my 32 size rib cage because of the adjustable ties!
Trendy, Cheap Swimwear:
For trendy and cheap bathing suits that you do not plan to wear for many years, I recommend trying out sites like Romwe! I got this adorable off the shoulder bikini from there! I sized up to a medium, because I would normally get a medium top and a small bottom, and the top ended up being too big but the bottoms fit like a small! So the sizing is not perfect, but it was only $8! Soon I will be sharing a blog post all about my experience shopping with Romwe so make sure to check that out for more info!
Trendy and Good Quality:
For this category I recommend Hollister! I just bought my second bathing suit from there and it is this adorable one piece that is currently only $15! I have been looking for a one piece for a while and this one was perecfect for me because although it is a full piece, it has a low v neck, see through crochet on the sides, and a low back that makes the perfect balance! I recommend sizing up one from what you wear in their clothing because their swimwear runs small! Especially if you are larger chested, those bikini top cups are tinyyyyy!
Extra Protection for the Sun:
Lilly Pulitzer makes an amazing rash guard that I highly recommend to protect from the sun if you have sensitive skin like I do! It is bright and colorful and also super light weight and made out of fabric that is not too hot for a sunny day at the beach! They make a long sleeve adult version, short sleeve adult version, and long sleeve children’s version! I have linked all below!
I also wanted to mention my favorite bottoms from Lilly Pulitzer! Unfortunately, Lilly no longer makes swimwear. However, I have found a link to one that is still available here: Lilly Pulitzer Bottoms
